Accidental Death of Biodiesel Worker Uncovers Environental Issues, GA

A deadly explosion at the Farmers and Truckers Biodiesel manufacturing plant Tuesday killed 35-year-old Jason Karstedt of Augusta. He was working as a contracted welder at the plant. Georgia Environmental Protection Division has ordered Farmers and Truckers Biodiesel to clean up its act after finding an environmental threat on the property.

Biodiesel Business License Revoked for Safety Concerns, UT

The Lindon (UT) City Council has revoked the business license of a biodiesel company, declaring its operation unsafe. The plant was the first of its kind in Utah, opening its biodiesel production in 2006. However, it had ceased operation in May because of safety concerns acknowledged by its own board of directors.
